  • How do I make a booking?

    In order to make a booking, first check the availability of the property (select the dates of the week you want to book via our "Check availability and price" button on the home page). If the property is not available for your chosen dates, we will suggest the nearest dates we have available. If the property is available for your chosen dates, please click on the orange "Book Now" button and fill in the form. Once you have filled in our booking form, we will hold the booking for you for two days in order to give you time to get the 35% deposit to us. You can pay us by debit/credit card, by bank transfer or by French euro cheque.

  • When will I get my security deposit back?

    Your security deposit will be returned after we have inspected the property - within 14 days of departure.

  • How much is the security deposit?

    The security deposit is 500 euros.

  • Do I need to clean the property at the end of my stay?

    No cleaning is included in all our rentals, but you will still need to remove all rubbish (both inside and outside the property) on your day of departure.

  • Is cleaning included in the rental cost?

    Yes, the cost of cleaning the property at the end of your stay is included within the rental cost.

  • What are the arrival and departure times?

    Please arrive between 16:00 and 19:00. You will need to vacate the property by 10:00 on your day of departure (or 10:00 for weekends and short stays only).

  • What is the capacity of the property?

    The maximum number of people the property can accommodate is 10.

  • Does the price include free use of the WiFi internet?

    Yes

  • Does the price include firewood?

    Yes.

  • Can I smoke inside the property?

    Our property is non-smoking, but you can, of course, smoke outside.

  • When will I need to pay the balance of the booking?

    The balance of the booking is due 8 weeks before your arrival date. If you are making your booking less than 8 weeks before your arrival date you will need to make full payment at the time of booking.

  • Does the price include heating, water and electricity?

    Yes, subject to reasonable usage.

  • Can you hold a period for me while I make my decision?

    Yes, you can hold a booking for a period of 24 hours without any obligation by checking availability on our website and filling in our 'Hold Now' form.

  • Do you give a discount for bookings of more than one week?

    Sorry, we don't offer a discount.

  • Can I bring my dog/cat?

    Yes, animals are accepted in our property, your pets therefore will be welcome (subject to our prior written approval).

  • Is there cleaning equipment available?

    Yes and a selection of cleaning products.

  • Do you accept cheques-vacances?

    No, not at the present time.

  • Can you recommend a holiday insurance company?

    Yes, Aduciel - www.aduciel.fr. where you can take out a fixed-price cancellation policy.

  • Does the price include linen and towels ?

    Yes. Towels and linen are included, and beds will be made up for your arrival.

  • At what times of the year do you accept weekend and short stay bookings?

    We take weekend and short stay bookings in the low season - May, June, September, October, November and December (up until Christmas week).

  • What are the minimum number of nights for a short stay booking?

    The minimum price is for a 2-night stay but you can also pay the price and stay for as little as one night.

  • What are your arrival and departure times for weekend bookings?

    For weekend bookings (unless otherwise stated) you can arrive from 16:00 on your day of arrival and will need to vacate the property by 10:00 on your day of departure.

  • How many nights are your weekend bookings?

    Our weekend bookings are for two nights (but you can also pay the two night price and stay for one night). Please do a search on our website for pricing for stays longer than 2 days. (Note: the price for 6 days is the same as for a week).

  • Is it possible to stay for one night only?

    It is no problem to stay for only a single night but the price will be the same as a two night stay.

    The property is 4.00 km away from the village centre of Manigod, where there are some small shops and 10.00 km from the nearest big supermarket.

  • Do I need a car to get to your property?

    Yes, you will need a vehicle to reach our property.

  • What is the altitude of the property?

    The altitude is 1100 metres.

  • How far away is the bus stop for the ski bus?

    The nearest stop for the ski bus is 4.00 km from the property.

  • How many car parking spaces are there?

    At the property, there are:

  • How do I find the property and collect the keys?

    We will send you an email a few weeks before the start of your holiday that will contain full arrival details together with all contact details (telephone and email). Upon your arrival, you will be given the keys and advice relating to the property and the local area, and answers to any questions you might have. You will also be asked to pay the 500 euros security deposit.

  • Do I need snow chains?

    It is a legal requirement that snow chains must be carried when driving on mountain roads in France during the winter months (from 1st December to 30th April), even for 4x4s. If you are hiring a car make sure that they are provided.

  • How long will it take to get to ?

    No

  • Do you have a raclette grill?

  • Can you recommend a ski hire shop?

    To rent great ski equipment at the best prices please visit either of our two ski hire partners -

  • Will I need a car to go skiing?

    As the ski pistes are around 10.00 km away, we recommend transport.

  • Are the roads regularly cleared of snow?

    All the local roads are regularly cleared of snow by the local commune as required. They are though not cleared from approximately 21:00 until 07:00.

  • What are the bedroom and bed details?

    The maximum capacity for this rental is 10 persons and 1 baby (under 2). Please let me know in advance which beds you wish to use during your stay.

    There is an independent wc next to the sauna.

    Ground floor:

    There is an independent wc on this floor accessed from the entrance lobby.

    1st floor:

    Bedroom 4: 1 double bed (140x190) with ensuite shower room, with a shower, and a hand basin.

    Bedroom 5: 1 double bed (140x190)

    There is also a bathroom with a bath and a double hand basin, plus an independent wc on this floor.

  • What do I do if I break something or something stops working during my stay?

    We realise that "accidents can (and do) happen". If something is broken or stops working during your stay, please let us know straight away.

  • Do you have a fondue set?

    Yes

  • Is there a nursery in Manigod?

    There is a creche in Manigod village for babies and children from the age of 2.5 months to 4 years - tel +33(0) 4 50 44 99 76. There is also a "Centre de Loisirs" in the village that operates throughout the holidays for 3 to 11 year olds - tel +33(0) 4 50 44 94 77. Please contact them directly for further details.

  • How long will it take to get to Geneva airport?

    Yes we can arrange a baby sitter / child minder. Please ask us for details once you have secured your booking.

  • Can you provide a baby's cot?

    Yes (it is essential you inform us if you would like a baby's cot prior to your arrival). Please note that we do not supply bed linen for cots.

  • Can you recommend any local products or services?

    We're currently working on a directory. Please get in touch if you have a specific requirement.

  • Can you provide a baby's high chair?

    Yes, there is a 1260 m2 garden.

  • Do you have a barbecue available?

    Yes, a charcoal barbecue is available at the property.

  • Can you give me more information about your jacuzzi?

    The outdoor jacuzzi holds 5 people. The temperature of the water is set at around 32°C.

  • The property is right by the train station.

  • Are the stairs equipped with security gates for small children?

    No, there are no security gates on the stairs. Furthermore, the suspended chimney being at the bottom of the stairs we advise you to supervise toddlers at all times. (For more information, please watch the video on our website).

    Regular cleaning of the chalet is included in the rental cost.

    The nearest ski slopes are 10.00km from the property, where parking is available. Please ask for directions when you arrive.

  • Where is the nearest ski school?

    We recommend Manigod ESF (www.esfmanigod.com). The school has many excellent English speaking instructors.

  • How frequent are the buses?

  • Is it possible to ski under floodlights?

    Le Grand Bornand offers night skiing every Tuesday night, and if you feel adventurous you can try the local sledges under floodlights in La Clusaz on Tuesday and Thursday nights. La Clusaz also runs 'Full Moon Ski' nights, when the pistes are lit only by the glow of the full moon. Enjoy the tranquility of skiing by moonlight, or stop in at one of the bars or restaurants offering everything from drinks and food to bonfires and music. Also, Croix Fry offers night skiing every night of the week during peak holiday weeks, and most Friday and Saturday night from late December until late March. Skiing is open from 4.30pm to 9.30pm.

    The lifts open at 09:00 and close between 16:30 and 17:00
